Obituary

Judith Pauline Lintner, age 88, formerly of Lancaster, Nickel Mines and Ronks, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Salisbury Md.  She was the wife of the late Paul L. Lintner who died August 5th, 2022.  Judith was born and raised in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Paul Edward and Elsie Bauer Roschel.

Judy retired from Millersville University in 1999 where she was employed for 14 years, most recently as Administrative Assistant to the Associate Provost for Academic Administration.  Prior to this, she worked for 13 years as a secretary in various departments of the former Commonwealth National Bank's downtown Lancaster office.  Earlier employments included Alcoa Corp. and RCA.  After retiring, Judy enjoyed working part-time as a front desk receptionist at the Spring Run, Cultural Center, Glen, Arbor View and Lakeside facilities of the Willow Valley Retirement Community.

Judy was a 1955 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School and completed various AIB banking courses while employed by Commonwealth National Bank.

Her happiest times were spent as a violinist in various local community orchestras including the Millersville University/Community Orchestra, F&M Orchestra, Highland Presbyterian Church and Calvary Church orchestras.  She and three friends formed a quartet that played briefly for local community and church functions.  Judy was a current member of the Lancaster Senior Orchestra before moving to Maryland.

In her earlier years, she was a long-time member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, Lancaster.

She enjoyed music, reading, needlework, working with computer graphics and was an avid book collector of early juvenile fiction, and vintage school readers.  She also did volunteer work for the Lancaster County Library.

She is survived by her twin sister, Jean R. Schindle, of PA.  Surviving are also 2 daughters, Dr. Louise Lintner Anderson of MD and Paula E. Wheeler of Indiana,, step-daughter Bonnie C. Transue of Florida, 3 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.  Judy also enjoyed a special friendship with Deb and Kenny Strickler of Mt. Joy and their loving family.  She was preceded in death by a step-son Lester E. Lintner.
