Judith A. Bakun

Judith A. Bakun, age 70, of Gordonville, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at home. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Bakun.  Born in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Raymond C. Foose and Elizabeth (Schlabach) Shoemaker.  Judith was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in New Holland until the church closed.  She was a graduate of Easton Area High School, class of 1974. She also graduated from Lancaster County Career and Technical Center as a certified clinical medical and administrative assistant. She was the Minority Inspector for Leacock Township. She was the founder of the Golden Girls Widows Group at Conestoga View. She worked for American Can Dixie Division in Easton, PA, where she first met her husband, Richard. Later, she worked as a medication technician at Diamond Pharmacy Inc., where she eventually retired.

She is survived by her son, Mathew Bakun; two brothers, Robert Michael Foose Sr. of Wind Gap and Patrick Michael Foose of Allentown; an aunt, Gertrude Schlabach Grandinetti of Easton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Michael Foose Sr.

A funeral service will take place at Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Hwy E, Paradise, PA on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Don Hagan will officiate. Interment will take place in Paradise Mennonite Cemetery.
