Joyce A. Kreider age 89 met her Lord and Savior face to face on Monday, January 12, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Lloyd E. Kreider, who passed away on August 12, 2024. She was born in Blue Ball, PA, daughter of the late Abram & Ruth Shultz Horst. She attended Calvary Church of Lancaster and more recently West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes. She graduated from LMS, class of 1955. Joyce loved Jesus and His Word and never grew tired of spending time with both. She was a prayer warrior and her faith in Jesus remained constant through the loss of her daughter Cheryl at age 22, and other loved family members including her husband Lloyd, who was the love of her life. Joyce loved her family well and cherished time spent with them and knew all 78 birthdays & full names. She created a warm and loving home for her family, was an amazing cook and hosted countless meals for family & friends. Joyce enjoyed her many friends and wonderful times spent with them, traveling, playing tennis, breakfast/lunches out, etc. She was secretary to her husband Lloyd in his many business ventures. She worked for 17 years as hostess at Stoltzfus Farm Restaurant and served on Black Rock Board for 9 years, but her greatest joy and love was Jesus and her family. Surviving are 4 children: Karen wife of Ken Stoltzfus of Gordonville, Dottie wife of Dan Toronchuk of Lynden, WA, Debbie wife of Brian Yoder of Gordonville, and Gerald husband of Audrey Oberholtzer Kreider of Columbia, PA, 14 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren, 2 siblings: Clyde husband of Barbara Rohrer Horst of Lancaster, Reba wife of Fred Umble of New Holland. She was preceded in death by a daughter Cheryl Kreider, a grandson Shiloh Gibson and 2 brothers: Abram Horst, Jr. late husband of the late Marian Leaman Horst and Nelson late husband of Norma Barge Horst of Lancaster.
A memorial service hosted by Landis Homes will take place at the Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, on Saturday, January 24th at 3 p.m. with a time to greet the family following the service. A private interment will take place before the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Joyce's honor to Black Rock Retreat.
