Josephine E. "Jo" Book, 92, of Strasburg, PA passed away at her residence on Sunday, April 6, 2025 following a brief illness.  She and her husband Charles R. Book celebrated 66 years of marriage.  Born in Mt. Wolf, (York County) she was the daughter of the late Wilbert E. and Carolyn Prowell Hively.

Prior to starting a family, Jo had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Lancaster General Hospital. Later in life she volunteered at the former St. Joseph's Hospital, Lancaster.

Jo was a 66 year member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg where she had served as a Deacon.

Jo dearly cherished going on family vacations to Stone Harbor, NJ.  She and Charlie spent time in Sanibel Island, FL and enjoyed traveling out West.  Her hobbies included quilting and doing Counted Cross Stitch.

Her family felt truly blessed to call her wife and mother and are saddened that she is gone but thankful for God's grace and love.

Surviving beside her husband are two daughters, Lori L. Herr, partner of John Thomas, Julie A. wife of Jeffrey Primaldi; and several nieces and nephews .

A private traditional graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.  Contributions may be made in Jo's memory to the following organizations: Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
