Joseph F. Omlor, age 82, of Holtwood, PA, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023.  He was the husband of the late Helen Mootry Omlor, who passed away on January 19, 2000.  He was born in Philadelphia, son of the late Francis A. & Alice Pavelko Omlor.  He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church of Quarryville.  He graduated from St. James Catholic High School class of 1958.  He retired from Sun Oil Company, Marcus Hook, PA.  He sailed in the Merchant Marine for Sun Oil Company and was proud to say that he sailed around the world three times before he was 19 years old.  He was a veteran of the Army serving on both the European and  African continents.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Surviving is a son Joseph R. husband of Kristen Omlor of MD, 2 granddaughters Alexis & Katherine, 2 siblings:  Joan wife of Alex Kennedy of Swedesboro, NJ, Margaret Omlor of Upper Chichester, PA.  He was preceded in death by a brother Francis A. Omlor, Jr.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA, on Friday, January 27th at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until time of service. Father Olusola Adewole will be officiating.  Interment will be in the St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery.
