Jonathan S. Stoltzfus

Jonathan S. Stoltzfus, age 87 of Gordonville, PA, passed away at his home on Monday, October 19, 2026. He was the husband of Rachel Ann Lapp Stoltzfus, with whom he celebrated 13 years of marriage on August 16th. He was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara M. Kurtz Stoltzfus, who passed away on July 31, 2012. He was born in Ronks, PA, son of the late John B. & Lydia E. Smoker Stoltzfus. He was a member of the Pequea Amish Mennonite Church, where he was a former Deacon from 1963-1979 and Bishop from 1979-2007. In the past he owned and operated Jonathan's Woodcrafts of Parkesburg. He enjoyed reading, designing and building kitchen cabinets, lawn furniture and swing sets. In his retirement he worked in his garage workshop making smaller items for his children and grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife are 6 children: Bethany A. wife of Lloyd Beiler of Greensburg, PA, Philip W. husband of Norma Zook Stoltzfus of Amanda, OH, Regina F. wife of Ben A. Stoltzfus of Morgantown, PA, Timothy J. husband of Sara Ropp Stoltzfus of Hereford, AZ, Dorcas R. wife of Joseph Kurtz of Laurelville, OH, Karen J. wife of Mark Smucker of Townville, SC, 34 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, 7 siblings: Mary Ann wife of Samuel King of Narvon, Barbara wife of the late Eli Stoltzfus of New Holland, Rachel wife of Dan Stoltzfus of Leola, Rebecca wife of the late Abner Lapp of Ronks, John Jr. husband of Rachel Stoltzfus of Ronks, Elmer Stoltzfus of Gap, Emanuel Stoltzfus of Mt. Joy, sisters-in-law: Rebecca S. King Stoltzfus of Gap and Fannie Beiler Stoltzfus of Ronks. He was preceded in death by a grandson Judson Stoltzfus, 3 brothers: Isaac, Elias and Paul Stoltzfus. Funeral service will take place from the Pequea Amish Mennonite Church, 115 Blank Road, Narvon, PA, on Thursday, October 22nd at 10 a.m. with his sons Phil and Tim Stoltzfus officiating. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday, October 21st from 2-4 p.m and 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
