John L Stump

John L. Stump, age 81, of New Holland, formerly of Gap, passed away in his home at Garden Spot Village on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He was the Husband of Carolyn Smith Stump for 63 years. Born in Darlington MD, he was the son of the late Maurice and Lillian Jones Stump. John worked as a production line assistant for HP/Agilent for 42 years. He collected Thomas Kinkade art and loved to collect and repair clocks. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, recording all of their games so he wouldn't miss one. John was always drawn to babies and dogs, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Besides his wife he is survived by 2 daughters: Karen, wife of Tony Mendoza of GA and Sharon Rutledge of New Holland, 4 Grandchildren: Morgan Springer, Rachel Estep, Amanda Mendoza and Jessica Rutledge, 3 Great Grandchildren: Jake Springer, Eva Springer, Oliver Estep, and a brother Gerald "Jerry" C. husband of Sheila McMahon Stump of Cochranville. John is preceded in death by a sister Barbara Stump and brother Robert F. Jones.
A Funeral service will take place from Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth St. Christiana, PA 17509 on Tuesday January 21st at 2 p.m. with a viewing from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
