John Peter Stees

John Peter Stees, age 81 of Abbottstown, PA, formerly of Atglen, passed away in Atglen at the home of his son on Friday, December 2, 2022. He was the husband of Sally McFarland Stees, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. He was born in Quakertown, son of the late John and Helen Goddard Stees. He was a dairy farmer in the Atglen area for most of his working career. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. For many years Pete organized the Covered Bridge Classic, a run that benefited the Octorara High School. He enjoyed working with his hands: building, restoring old trucks and growing gardens. Surviving besides his wife are 2 sons: Peter Hutchinson Stees of Atglen, Andrew Clinton husband of Sara Smith Stees of Havre de Grace, MD, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters: Virginia Doppel of Landsdowne and Sandra Sudofski of Philadelphia.
