John F. Martin

John F. Martin, age 80, of Peach Bottom, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.  He was the husband of Edith Caldwell Martin who passed away on October 18, 1996.  Born in Sugar Grove, VA, he was the son of the late Kyle and Dorothy Rich Martin.  In the past he had worked at the Peach Bottom Power Plant.  John enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, and splitting fire wood.  He is survived by 3 children: John F. Jr. husband of Brenda Townsley Martin of Quarryville, Connie D. wife of the late Karl McGuigan of Peach Bottom, James M. husband of Kimberly Eckman Martin of New Providence, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 siblings: Billy Martin of Peach Bottom, Mildred wife of Herb Thomas of Elkton, MD, Shirley Ann Keys of Peach Bottom, Gilda Reynolds of York, and companion Margy Adams Latham  of Nottingham.  He was preceded in death by his brother Junior Martin.

Funeral service will take place at Reynolds and Shivery Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, on Monday, May 13th at 11 a.m., with a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Blake Deibler will be officiating.   Interment will be in the Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery.
