John W. Lewis Jr., 90, of Quarryville PA, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017.He was the husband of Barbara Jane Bailey Lewis.They had celebrated 69 years of marriage.
John's hobby was working. A self-employed building contractor for over 30 years, he had built many homes in Lancaster Co, many of which were in Manheim Twp.He had retired from Warfel Construction in 1994.
Born in East Drumore Twp. PA, he was a son of the late John Lewis Sr, and Estella Hammon Lewis.He was brought up in the Methodist faith.
In addition to his wife Barbara Jane, he is survived by 5 children; Richard Lewis (Cheryl), Peach Bottom, Michael Lewis (Donna), New Providence, Mary Ellen Jackson (John), United Kingdom, Diane Harsh (Donald), Quarryville, John R. Lewis, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.He was predeceased by a son, Robert D. Lewis, a grandson, Robert D. Lewis, Jr, and a cousin, Fanny Yuninger Schneider.
Funeral services will be private, with burial in Quarryville Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
