Lacock
March 5, 1940 – February 1, 2026
John W. Lacock, age 85 of Paradise, PA, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, February 1, 2026. He was the husband of Joyce J. Smith Lacock, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 5th, 2025. Born in Coatesville, he is the son of the late George & Estelle Weiler Lacock. He was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church of Paradise, where he taught Sunday School for the 3rd grade boys for over 33 years and also served as an Elder. John graduated from Pequea Valley High School class of 1958 and also Franklin & Marshall College and the University of Pennsylvania in 1963. John worked as a mechanical engineer for RCA. of Lancaster, in the laminating department with color picture tubes until 1972. He also worked in the E.O. & D. Division as a white room engineer for photo tubes, design engineer for closed circuit video for R.C.A., Burle Industries and Phillips until retiring in 2001. As a Life Scout, John earned 3 badges shy of Eagle Scout. He served at Camp Chiquetan, where he became a member of the Path Finders of the Golden Trail. For 6 months John worked for Olmstead Air Force Base and then served 6 years in the Pennsylvania National Guard as a Communication Sergeant with the 103rd Medical Battalion. In the past he was a member of the Salisbury Township Lions Club, and was a Co-Chairman of the Kinzer Fire Company Building Committee for the original building, and was also a trustee. His biggest passion was repairing bicycles and giving them away. John's heart was to care for his neighbors and those in the community. Surviving besides his wife are 4 super children: Andrew Lacock of Willow Street, Amy wife of Timothy Bouffard of Richland, PA, Cynthia wife of Todd Stoltzfus of Kinzers, Christopher husband of Kim Shultz Lacock of Paradise, his dearly loved 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, 3 siblings: Marsha wife of David Lichty of Mansfield, PA, Jacqueline wife of Herbert Fisher of Ronks, Earl husband of Patricia Lacock of Paradise.
A memorial service will take place at Calvary Monument Bible Church, 1660 Mine Road, Paradise, PA, on Saturday, at 11 a.m., with a time to greet the family from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastors Robert Reid and Timothy Bouffard will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Monument Bible Church, 1660 Mine Road, Paradise, PA. 17562.
