John R. Faltin

John R. Faltin, 66, of Lancaster, died Friday, January 27, 2017 at his residence.He and his wife Cheryl R. Stewart Faltin were married 44 years.Born in Uniontown, PA he was the son of the late John and Dorothy P. (Shink) Faltin.
He proudly served his country in the US Navy for 10 active years of active duty, where he learned the skills to run his own dental business (Red Rose Dental Lab). John continued to serve his country in the Naval Reserves, as part of the 14th Dental Company, 4th FSSG, for 18additional years.
John was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg where he served as an elder, trustee, deacon, Sunday school teacher and mentor for the confirmation class.He also was instrumental in forming the "Men's Prayer Breakfast".
John thoroughly enjoyed his family, children and grandchildren. His hobbies included building and flying his own helicopter, restoring an antique motorcycle, and fishing with his grandson, Luke.
Surviving beside his wife Cheryl are 3 children, Mary Snyder of Smyrna, DE, Patricia wife of Bart Trainer of Leola, Jason Faltin of Strasburg; 6 grandchildren(Luke, Avalyn, Arianna, Sarah, Ryan, Hannah); and a brother Robert husband of Neena Faltin of Blairsville, PA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:00PM at First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, 101 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA with Rev. Robert K. Brokema officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 12:30PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's memory to Water Street Mission, 210 South Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 or to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 175604-4125.
