John Allen "Al" Funk

John Allen "Al" Funk, of New Providence, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Lancaster General Hospital.  He was the husband of Mary Ellen Landis Funk with whom he celebrated 31 years of marriage on August 11th.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John A. and Dorothy L. Pannell Funk.  Al and Mary Ellen were both past members of Mount Pleasant United Methodist church where he served on the Board of Trustees.  He graduated from Solanco High School, Class of 1965.  He owned and operated Al Funk's Automotive in Paradise.  Al was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, and collector.  Surviving besides his wife are 4 children: James A. Funk of Elizabethtown, Michelle R. Funk of Lancaster, Connie M., wife of Bill Lougheed, and Stephen G., husband of Kimberly Myers, both of Audubon, NJ, 9 grandchildren: Tony, Zachary, Tiffany, Maeve, Allie, Ben, Emma, Sam, and Grady, 2 great-grandchildren: Tony Jr. and Lizelle and 4 siblings: Caroline Skinner, Joan, wife of Henry Carr, Donald, husband of Tina Funk, and David, husband of Connie Funk.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
