Jerry W, Smearman, Sr., age 82 of Christiana, Pa, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday February 18, 2024.  He was the loving husband of Carol Mandus Smearman, with whom he celebrated 60years of marriage.  He was born in Pittsburgh PA to the late Harry and Vera Johnson Smearman.  He worked as a steel worker for American Shear Knife for many years and then as a custodian for the Upper St. Clair Alliance Church.  He also served in the US Army.  Jerry was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved to listen to the oldies and was a collector of many things.  Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.  He is predeceased in death by his son Michael Harry Smearman and his sister Karen Darnley.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Jerry W Sr, (husband of Jodi Gurbisz Smearman) and daughter April M. (wife of Dan Hart).  He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Jerry, Jeffrey, James, Paige, Alyssa, Haley and Hana.  Also surviving are his siblings Linda Bauer, Margaret Zemaitis (Jerry) and Casey Smearman and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
