Jay L. Ranck, 71, of Windsong Lane, Lancaster, formerly of Peach Bottom, passed away of natural causes at his residence on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Mary R. Todd Ranck of Quarryville, and the late Lester H. Ranck.
Jay was a farmer and was a member of Mechanic Grove Mennonite Church where he served as a former pastor.He also served as a former Sunday school superintendent at Strasburg Mennonite Church.
Mr. Ranck was very much interested in genealogy, and spent many hours of research through the Mennonite Historical Society of which he was a former board member.
During his high school years at Solanco, he was a member of both the 4-H and F.F.A. clubs.
Surviving beside his mother are 3 siblings, Judy L. wife of James Thomas of New Providence, Ronald L. husband of Bonita Nissley Ranck of Leola, Randall L. husband of Patricia Groff Ranck of Lancaster; 7 nieces; 2 nephews; and 19 great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00AM from the Strasburg Mennonite Church, 1514 Village Road, Strasburg, PA. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Traditional interment will be private at Mechanic Grove Mennonite Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
