Jay F. Eberly

On June 24, 2019, Jay Eberly's treasured pocket planner said, "Go home."He took with him the twinkle in his eyes but left behind warm memories for those that knew him. He was content to find joy in the simple pleasures of life, yet well respected for his strong work ethic and ability to always share a smile.
Born October 3, 1937, in Quarryville, PA, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Ella M. Graybill Eberly.Affectionately known as "baby brother," Jay was the youngest of ten children. He is survived by three siblings:Martha Benner, Annabelle Basciani, and Nancy Findley. He was predeceased by siblings Charles Eberly, John Eberly, Blanche Mimm, Charlotte Boohar, Edith Delong, and Mary Shee.
A lifelong paving expert, Jay will now be supervising the maintenance of the golden streets of Heaven. 40+ years of employment as a paving supervisor for D.M. Stoltzfus & Son, Inc. gave him the skills necessary for this position.Jay's vast knowledge of direction served him well in his retirement years when he enjoyed driving his Amish friends around Lancaster County.
He was an active member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Washington Lodge #156, and Tucquan Lions Club. Jay was an avid fan of any sporting event played by his children or grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Shelba, are three sons: Gary (L. Kathleen) of Quarryville, PA, Scot of Ocean City, MD, and Jeffrey of Collegeville, PA. The "light" in his life were his grandchildren: Joshua (Julianna) Eberly, Jillian (Scott) Robinson, Christopher Eberly, Jenevieve Eberly, Camden Eberly, Jessa Hoover, and Brett Eberly.
