Janet L. Risser

Janet L. Risser, age 84 formerly of New Providence, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community.  She was the loving wife of Harry W. Risser, Jr. for 58 years before his passing on April 23, 2020.  Born in Revloc, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter & Augusta Tulowitzki Fahlfeder.  She was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church in Paradise.  She worked at the former Leaman Place Grocery Store in the deli.  In her free time, Janet loved camping and spending time with her family.  Surviving are 5 children; Jeffrey L. husband of Diana "Gertie" Lefever Risser of New Providence, Michael D. Risser of Hellam, PA, Kathleen M. wife of Charles Giffing of New Providence, Dale B. husband of Christine Napolitan Risser of Peach Bottom, Craig S. Sr. husband of Melody Scheffel Risser of Lancaster, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 3 siblings; Dorothy Fahlfeder, Doloris Oldham and Robert Fahlfeder.

A funeral service will take place at Calvary Monument Bible Church, 1660 Mine Road, Paradise, on Thursday, October 3rd at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Pastor Chris Lenhart will be officiating.  There will also be a viewing time on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds & Shivery Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville.  Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery with Pastor R.
