Janet Ruth Lutz

Janet Ruth Lutz, age 94 of Quarryville, and formerly of Scranton, PA, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Mrs. Lutz and her late husband, Robert Edward Lutz, who passed away on July 6, 2011, moved to QPRC in 1998.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Borer Winkler.  She graduated from Scranton Technical High School, and worked at Citizens Savings and Loan before becoming a homemaker. When her children were older she returned to work at Citizens. In her free time, she loved showing hospitality, especially with delicious food, visiting friends and family and sending them cards, and in the past, accompanying her husband in baking specialty breads and pastries.

Janet has been a member of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church since moving to Quarryville, and had previously been an active member of Faith Community Church and Evangelical Free Bible Church in the (Abingtons) Scranton area. Surviving are 2 children: Reverend Ronald E., husband of Susan Tonnessen Lutz, of Philadelphia, and Robyn J., wife of Richard Crane of Lutz, FL, 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Winkler.

A memorial service will take place at Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, 611 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA, on Saturday, June 19th at 2 p.m.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Lutz's honor to the ministry of Richard and Robyn Crane, Mission to the World, P.O.
