Jane A. Owen

Jane A. Owen, age 83, formerly of Oxford, passed away at the Mt. Joy Hospice Center on Sunday, August 21, 2022.  She was the wife of the late Richard D. Owen, who passed away on November 15, 2015.  She was born in Indianapolis, IN, daughter of the late Royal C. & Nellie B. Wurtz Colby.  She enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, flower gardening and animals especially dogs. She was a member of the Christian Science Church.   Surviving are 5 children:  Sandra Lynn wife of the late L. James Thomas, Sr. of Parkesburg, Douglas D. husband of Lynn Carelli Owen of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Brenda Jean "BJ" Owen Tubbs wife of Daniel Tubbs of Hagerstown, MD, Rodger "Rhys" husband of Jenny Moore Owen of St. Roberts, MO, Elisabeth Jane Owen of Rock Hill, SC, 9 grandchildren: Melissa, Richard "Rhys", Tyler, Towle, Lauren Noela Owen, L. James Thomas, Jr., Adam & Stephanie Tubbs, 4 great grandchildren:  Wesley, Owen, Mackenzie Blittersdorf, Olivia & Matthew Thomas.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Debra Lee Owen and a brother Robert Colby.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy. East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
