Jacob Lawson, age 81, of Gap, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.  He was the husband of Marie E. Armstrong Lawson, with whom he would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on December 10th.  He was born in Hotchkiss, WV, son of the late Daniel & Cressie Fraley Lawson.  In the past he worked as a laser welder for Ross Technology of Leola. He had also in the past worked as a painter for Leroy Lapp and Sons.  He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Eastern Lancaster County Rod & Gun Club and the Paradise Sportsman Association.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, selling any kind of tickets especially gun raffle tickets, he loved to support local children's fishing derbies. Jake was well known for joking with everyone, he had the biggest caring heart for everyone he met and if you knew Jake you knew you had a friend for life. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife is a daughter Cynthia "Cindy" wife of Michael Garver of Paradise, 3 grandchildren: Bradly husband of Kristin Godfrey of Airville, Cherakee Garver of Strasburg, Colton Garver significant other of Alexa Colagreco of Paradise, 2 great grandchildren: Bailey & Kimber Garver, 2 siblings:  Bobby husband of Mary Lawson of Lester, WV, Betty Arter of Gap.  He was preceded in death by 7 siblings:  Dolly Wyatt, Myrtle Lucas, Goldie Engle, Sylvia Hainer, Faye Pope, Johnny and Roy Daniel Lawson.

A time of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, December 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Eastern Lancaster County Rod and Gun Club, 904 Smyrna Road, Kinzers.  Casual dress, preferably camo is requested.  Light refreshments will be provided.
