Jack L. Bates Jr., age 72 of Mountville, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at his home. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Jack L. Bates Sr. and Dorothy Brown Bates Styer, step father Harold J. Styer. Jack enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, biking, and scuba diving. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer wife of Chad Engle of Conestoga, a grandson, Colten Bates, 2 sisters: Debra Bates and Donna Bates, a nephew, Michael Bates, and a step mother, Audrey Bates all of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristin Bates and 3 grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
