Hazel B. Aument

Hazel B. Aument, 94, of Oregon Hollow Road, Holtwood, PA died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the widow of Frank W. Aument who died September 15, 2011. Born on February 28, 1923 in Quarryville, she was the daughter of the later Harry and Blanche Shaub Barr.
A homemaker, Hazel was a member of St. Paul's Church, Quarryville where she sang in the church choir for many years and served on consistory. She was formerly involved in the Lancaster General Hospital Auxiliary, Solanco Fair Association, and Farm Women #21. She was a founding member of Meals on Wheels where she served as a volunteer coordinator for over 40 years.
Surviving her are 5 daughters, Nancy (John) Shank of Manheim, Carol (Carlton) Groff of Peach Bottom, Diane (Harold) Ranck of Hummelstown, Peggy Thorneburg of Salisbury, NC, Susan (Fred) Faivre of Titusville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister Betty Cox of Lancaster. Hazel was preceded in death by a grandchild and a sister Mildred Guiney.
Funeral services will be held from St. Paul's Church, 1 West Fourth Street, Quarryville, PA on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:30PM with Pastor Kenneth Hash officiating. Interment will follow in Quarryville Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12:30PM until the time of service.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hazel's memory to St. Paul's Church, 1 West Fourth Street, Quarryville, PA 17566 or to Solanco Meals on Wheels, 73 Mt.
