Harry D. Gossert

Harry D. Gossert, Jr. age 88, of New Providence passed away at Evergreen Estates, Lancaster, PA on Monday, December 11, 2023.  He was the husband of the late Joyce Martin Gossert.  Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Harry D. and June Brandt Gossert, Sr.

Harry had a career as an insurance agent for Met Life Insurance Company and Old Guard Insurance Company.

He graduated from Salisbury High School, (Pequea High School) class of 51, where he was class president and New Holland High School (Garden Spot) class of 1952. Active in his community, he served as president of the White Horse Fire Company, as an auditor for Providence Township, served on the Salisbury election board, and was treasurer of the Salisbury Alumni Association.

He enjoyed camping and hunting.

Surviving him are 3 children, Donna (Joseph) Sheaffer, Sharon (Charles) Williams, III, Randall Gossert; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca Sorg, Shawn Sheaffer, Chad Williams, Kelly Loy, Hunter Gossert; 8 great grandchildren; 4 siblings, Shirley Sauders, Tom Gossert, Arlene Wise, and Judy Schultz.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in law Tracy Gossert and 3 siblings, Polly Gossert, Bill Gossert, and Carolyn Bills.

Funeral services will be held at Boehm's United Methodist Church, 13 Wes Boehms Road, Willow Street, PA on Friday at 11:00AM with Rev. Manuel P. Cruz officiating. A viewing will be held at Reynolds & Shivery Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Thursday from 6:00-8:00PM and again on Friday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church.
