Harold E. Rudy, Jr. age 86, of Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA died at his residence on Friday, May 8, 2015. He and his wife Elinor L. Herr Rudy were married on December 11, 1948 and celebrated 66 years of marriage.He was born in East Hempfield Township, a son of the late Harold E, Sr., and Eleanor Grube Rudy.
He was employed by Sam Long Construction for 34 years and then worked as an estimator for 15 years for Andrews Excavating from which he retired.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg where he served as an elder and trustee.Harold was a member of Free & Accepted Masons, Lancaster Lodge #43, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and the Lancaster County Shrine Club.
Surviving beside his wife Elinor is a son, Robert A. (Deborah) Rudy of Winter Haven, FL.He was preceded in death by a son Steve D. Rudy, a brother Paul Rudy, and a sister June Rohrer.
A Memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, 101 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 1:00PM with Rev. Robert K. Bronkema officiating.A viewing will be held at the church on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 6:30-8:30PM. Traditional interment in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery will be private.
