Harold E. Byers

Harold E. Byers, 86, passed away March 14, 2017 into the loving arms of Jesus.He is survived by his caring wife of 65 years, Naomi C. Smoker Byers.Born March 17, 1930 in Lancaster, PA he was the son of the late Phares C. and Pearl Detwiler Byers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Beverly (Michael) Landis, Carol (Daniel) Davis, Audrey (Jeffrey) See, Debra (Ricky) Brubaker; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (John) Glick, Marian (Evan) Good, and Shirley (Melvin) Martin. Harold was preceded in death by a daughter Jodi Byers.
Harold loved his wife "Willie", his family and spending time with friends.He was a member of Strasburg Mennonite Church, Strasburg Lions Club, the Green Laurel Hunting Club, the Gideons, and was on the board of Black Rock Retreat.
Harold had been self- employed as a painter. He and Naomi traveled many miles throughout the United States and Canada on their motorcycle with friends.
The Byers family wishes to express their thanks to those at Hospice and Community Care for the loving care they gave to Harold during his illness. He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at Strasburg Mennonite Church, 1514 Village Road, Strasburg, PA on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 3:00PM.A viewing will be held from 1:00PM until the time of service.Traditional interment will be private.
