Hans-Peter Heinbockel, age 91 of Lancaster, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband of Renate (Stresemann) for 65 years. He was born in Armstorf, Germany on March 8, 1933 to the late Klaus and Gesche (Mangels) Heinbockel. Hans-Peter met Renate in 1956 while at a wedding. In 1957, after coming to the U.S. he was drafted into the Army and deployed overseas to Germany. In 1959, he and Renate married in Lamstadt, Germany and came back to New York where they settled down and started their family. He earned his Master Barber Certification while in Germany and opened his own barber shop in Rockville Center, NY.  Devoted father of Evelyn (David) Welz, of Medford, NY and Peter (Laura) Heinbockel, of Christiana, PA. Loving grandfather of Kimberly, Christopher (Shannon), Kristin (Tommy), and Stephanie, as well as seven great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Gerhard (Elfriede) Heinbockel of Armstorf, Germany.  Interment at a later date at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.
