Gwendolyn E. Polizzi

Gwendolyn E. Polizzi, age 82, of Quarryville passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Hamilton Arms. She was the wife of John Polizzi. Born in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Bumstead Lindlau.

Gwen was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Quarryville. She was an elementary school teacher for the Brooklyn Diocese in New York, as well as a director at Headstart in Lancaster. She also held an auctioneering license for many years.  She received her Bachelor's Degree from St. John's University in New York. She enjoyed going to auctions, gardening, and taking care of her family and pets.

Surviving besides her husband are her daughter, Elizabeth (Liz), wife of Luigi (Gino) Percontino of New Jersey, and two grandchildren: Gino and Livia Percontino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherine's, 955 Robert Fulton Hwy, Quarryville, PA 17566 on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Father Ryan Fischer will be officiating. Interment will be in the St. Catherines Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
