Gregory K.
Woerth
June 12, 1954 – December 29, 2024
Gregory K. Woerth, age 70 of Kirkwood, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Greg was born in Lancaster, the beloved son of Doris Whitelock Woerth of Christiana and the late Kern A. Woerth. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A prominent figure in his community, Greg was the devoted owner and operator of Whitelock and Woerth, Inc. in Christiana. Greg also owned an embroidery company that he thoroughly enjoyed. His dedication extended beyond his work, as he also generously volunteered his time at Bart Fire Company, where his leadership and commitment were truly valued.
Greg's passion for giving back was exemplified by his unwavering support for Woerth It Hollow, a cause that was close to his heart. He derived great joy from spreading happiness and laughter, always striving to put smiles on the faces of those around him.
An avid outdoorsman, Greg found solace in the simplicity of nature, finding peace in farming, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. His eclectic interests were reflected in his collections and his cherished animals, particularly his late companion, Emma.
Greg is survived by his loving daughter, Sara Woerth of Kirkwood, his adored grandchildren, Luke and Noah, and his siblings: Jenifer (F. Edward Weidman), Matthew (Belinda Woerth), and Joan (Joseph Bledsoe, Jr.), all of Quarryville.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the funeral service, which will be held at Reynolds & Shivery Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, on Friday, January 3rd at 11 a.m. A viewing will precede the service starting at 10 a.m. Pastor Derek Weidman will lead the service, offering words of comfort and reflection.
In honor of Greg's memory, the family kindly requests that attendees bring a picture, written story, or a small item that reminds them of Greg to place in his memory box at the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woerth It Hollow, a cause Greg held dear, at 269 Cooper Drive, Kirkwood, PA 17536.
Greg will be laid to rest in the peaceful surroundings of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery, where he will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. May his spirit of generosity, humor, and love for life continue to inspire all who knew him.
