Gregory Paul Lutz

Gregory Paul Lutz, 70, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Lancaster, PA passed away on May 23, 2026 at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital after a sudden illness.

Greg was born in Lancaster, PA to his late parents, Chester Lutz and Velma (Hartman) Lutz. He graduated from Pequea Valley High School in 1974.

Prior to retirement, Greg was a safety professional with JD Eckman, Inc. He was a life-member of the Strasburg Fire Company where he held numerous roles, including Assistant Fire Chief.

Greg was passionate about occupational safety, where there was no compromise to the safety of the men and women on the job site, but he was happiest in retirement when he was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Greg was a fan of NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Greg is survived by his wife, Melanie (Ressel) Lutz, his son Michael Lutz and his wife Kathryn (Galvin) Lutz and their son Jack, and his son Brian Lutz and his wife Amanda (Scalzo) Lutz and their sons, Jet and Sonny. He is also survived by his brother Gordon Lutz, and his brother Norman Lutz and his wife Michele (English) Lutz. In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by Gordon’s wife Melanie (Tallent) Lutz.

The Memorial Service for Gregory Paul Lutz is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 2:00PM at the Strasburg Fire Company, 203 Franklin Street, Strasburg, PA.  Contributions can be made in Greg’s memory to the Strasburg Fire Company, PO Box 64, Strasburg, PA 17579.
