George B.
Parshall Iii
September 12, 1940 – February 11, 2023
George B. Parshall III, age 82 of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at home surrounded by his wife and children. He was the husband of Christine Pennstrom Parshall, with whom he celebrated 33 years of marriage. He was born in Delaware County, son of the late George B. II and Ruth Quantin Parshall. He attended Pequea Amish Mennonite Church in Narvon. George was motivated and guided by the verse Matthew 25:40, which states, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Through his work as an EMT, his creation of the Quick Response Service (QRS) in Chester County, and as the owner and operator of Teenaid, a nonprofit organization providing emergency medical services for a variety of events, George lived out the true meaning of this verse and touched and saved the lives of countless individuals. His dedication to serving others was a testament to his deep faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Additionally, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and church family. He was an avid reader, and loved canoeing, sailing, hiking, and traveling by rail. He did not like to fly but he did fly with his wife to Israel and Egypt for a 2-week tour of the Holy Land. He was the owner, operator, and master electrician of Railway Resources. Surviving besides his wife are 4 children: Katherine Lynn wife of Nathan Sumner of Lititz, Jennifer Lynn wife of Justin Miller of Greensboro, NC, Jason Daniel husband of Colleen Hooven Houck of Downingtown, Jeremy David husband of Allison Smith Houck of Raleigh, NC, 11 grandchildren, and 1 sister, Dorothy Parshall of Canada and 2 nephews and many extended family members.
Funeral Service will take place at Pequea Amish Mennonite Church, 115 Blank Road, Narvon, on Friday, February 17th at 11 AM. The interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to www.58ten.com in Georges's honor to support an orphanage where George and Christine are supporting a little girl in Kenya.
