George Franklin "Papa" Pelley

George Franklin "Papa" Pelley, 76, of Quarryville, PA passed away peacefully at his residence with his daughters by his side.  Born in Staten Island, NY, on June 23, 1945, he was the son of the late John and Lillian Christenson Pelley.

George had been employed as a cable splicer for Henkels & McCoy, Inc.

A proud US Navy veteran he served as an E-3 during the Vietnam War on the USS Bushnell.

George was a talented musician, writing and composing music and playing the guitar.  He played in bands and worship services at church in his earlier years.

He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing, and was an avid reader.

He is survived by two daughters, Celeste M. (Eric) Esposito of Holtwood, Sarah H. Bullers of Mechanicsburg; 8 grandchildren; and his first great grandchild expected in March 2022.  He was preceded in death by an infant son Matthew Pelley (1985-1986).

Services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
