Gary L. Kendig

Gary L. Kendig, age 89, of Quarryville, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 8, 2026. He was the husband of Selma A. Brown Kendig. Born in Christiana, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Alta M. Eckert Kendig. He was a graduate of Scott High School. Gary worked at Summers and Zim's of Atglen for 20 years and then started, along with his son, Kendig's Heating and Cooling retiring in 2002. He enjoyed tractors and horses.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Todd S. husband of Kelly Pringle Kendig of Mechanicsburg, Alan E. husband of Andrea Pringle Kendig of Christiana, 4 grandchildren: Nick, Vicki, Shawn, Heather Kendig, 8 great-grandchildren Luna, Rayna, Tori, Nadya, Blake, Caleb, Brendin, Cameron, and a brother Glenn husband of Cindy Stoltzfus Kendig of Christiana. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Kendig late husband of Beverly Lammey Kendig of Quarryville.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 14th at 11 a.m. at Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, with a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Jonathan Damon will be officiating. Interment will be in the Sadsbury Friends Burial Grounds. Following the interment there will be a luncheon at Chantry Place, 15 North Bridge Street, Christiana.
