Gary John Hess

Gary John Hess, 63, of Peach Lane, Ronks, PA died unexpectedly following a brief illness on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA.He and his wife Susan Reese Hess would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on May 1st. Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of Miriam Shuffelbottom Hess and the late John H. Hess, Jr.
Surviving beside his wife and mother are two daughters, Amber L. wife of Jim Karpathios of Willow Street, Afton R. Hess of Joppa, MD; and a grandson Braedon John Hess Karpathios.
Gary was employed as the Director of Safety and Compliance for Worley and Obetz for 17 years.
He was a very honest and loyal man which led to many lifelong friends.
He enjoyed both hunting and cabin time at the Bald Eagle Camp, family beach vacations, and following the Phillies.He was the biggest fan of both of his daughters throughout their collegiate field hockey careers, never missing a single game.He continued his passion as a fan by watching his grandson play baseball in hopes of following his collegiate career as he did with his daughters.
An informal visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 5:00PM until 7:30PM.
