Freda M. Amos

Freda M. Amos, age 98 of Strasburg, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing in Lancaster.  She was the wife of the late Robert Amos.  Born in Junior, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Edna Ware Swick.  She graduated from Belington High School in West Virginia.  Freda was a member of the former Christian Missionary Alliance Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher.  In her free time, she loved cross stitching, reading, going to church and bible studies, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.  Surviving are 3 siblings: Dorothy Snyder of Belington, WV, Evelyn Ritter of Strasburg, and James Swick of Belington, WV.  She was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Anna Marie Swick, Mamie McKinney, Warren Swick and Melvin Swick.  A graveside service will take place at Green Mount Cemetery, 117 Westtown Road, West Chester, on Friday, April 1st at 11 a.m. with a viewing time briefly before the service.  Pastor James Haun will be officiating.
