Frank Chester Berkey

Frank Chester Berkey, aka Frankie and Bubba, age 74 of Kirkwood died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, June 3rd, 2022, at the home of his caregiver, Denise Temple with whom he resided with for the last 11 years. After a brief stay in the hospital the week of April 27, 2022, Frankie was released to return home with the help of Hospice Care. He was the husband of the late Lee A. Tartenaar Berkey who died in 2010. In addition to his caregiver, he is survived by two brothers, Ralph Berkey and Robert Berkey (Rocky.), two sisters, Debbie Flaud and Mary Lou Flaud and his daughter, LeeAnn McHugh Bilbrough,(Laura Williams). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy Griffin and Charles L. Berkey Sr., brothers John Berkey, Everett Berkey, Charles (Patty) Berkey, one sister Dorothy Hall and daughter Rebecca A. Biechler. He had worked for Gap Tire Center, Mount Vernon Enterprise, on the farm with his family and hauling scrap before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, scraping, and working on derby cars with former neighbor, Kevin Pluck. Long known for his big heart and sense of humor. He put smiles on every face everywhere he went.
