Florence A. Metzler

Florence A. Metzler, age 87, formerly of Willow Street, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.  She was the wife of the late Clayton J. Metzler who died November 28, 2024, 11 days before their 68th anniversary.  Born in Strasburg she was the daughter of the late Willis C. Sr. and Mildred V. Harple Lefever. She was a1956 graduate  of Lampeter Strasburg. Florence was a member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church for nearly 70 years where she served as a Sunday school teacher and numerous committees. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, baseball, her cats and life on the farm. Her love for her family was immense. She was the last member to join "The Gang" friends in heaven.

Surviving are 2 children: Joseph E. husband of Jane Wilson Metzler of Sykesville, Md, and Polly L. wife of Ronald E. Hill of York, 4 grandchildren, Jason (Kelsey) Metzler, Jennelle (Jordon) Black, Jacqueline (Andrew) Gordon and Bradley Hill and 5 great grandchildren, Jayler and Jahla Black, Aubree and Brooks Metzler and Aubree Gordon. Siblings: Park (Sara) Lefever and predeceased by 3 brothers, Baby Richard, Willis Jr. (Margaret) Lefever and Charles (Faye/Nancy) Lefever.

A funeral service will take place at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Church Road, Quarryville, PA, on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Rev John Hartman officiating. The family will receive family and friends at the church from 10 AM until the service. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
