Eugene R. "Gene" Caldwell, age 88 of Quarryville, passed away at Oak Leaf Manor of Millersville on Thursday, January 2, 2025.  He was the husband of the late Bonnie L. Miller Caldwell, who passed away on February 16, 2017.  He was born in Bart Township, son of the late George E. & Bessie Weidler Caldwell.  He worked as a truck driver working for several local companies and also independently.  He was a veteran of the Army.  He was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church.  He was also a member of the Christiana American Legion and the V.F.W.  He enjoyed flea markets, traveling and was known as a Dodge man.  Surviving is a son Raymond E. Caldwell of Quarryville, 9 siblings:  Marie Haas of Lancaster, George husband of Doris Cummings Caldwell of Quaryville, Shirley Speakman of Paradise, Mabel wife of Donald Smith of New Providence, Thomas husband of Pauline Zimmerman Caldwell of Christiana, Carol wife of George Stanley of New Providence, Margaret "Peggy" Kalin of Willow Street, Randy husband of Josie Peffer Caldwell of Quarryville, James husband of Jackie Brock Caldwell of Quarryville.  He was preceded in death by a daughter Vicky Caldwell, 2 siblings: Donald husband of Vivian Summers Caldwell of Quarryville and Betty wife of James Aubry of Little Britain.  The family would like to thank Tommy Walton for his many caring visits. Funeral service will take place at the Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA, on  Wednesday, January 8th at 11 a.m., with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until time of service.  Pastor John Barlow will be officiating.  Interment will be in the Middle Octorara Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, PA 17566 or to a charity of your choice.
