Elsie K. Smoker

Elsie K. Smoker, age 96, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community.  She was born in Allensville, PA, on September 10, 1927, to Samuel P. & Arie Y. Peachey Yoder.  She married Sylvan K. Smoker on January 11, 1947; he passed away on August 14, 2020.  She was a member of Millwood Mennonite Church of Gap, where she was involved with the sewing circle, greeter and custodian.  In the past she was a member of Andrews Bridge & Newlinville Mennonite Church.  In the past she had worked at Harrison House of Christiana in various positions.  She enjoyed crocheting, flowers, gardening and playing games.  Surviving are 9 children:  David husband of Judy High Smoker of North Bingham, PA, Glenda wife of James Brubaker of Quarryville, Galen husband of Verna Smucker Smoker of Cochranville, Nathanael husband of Donna Taylor Smoker of Jacksonville, TX, Timothy husband of Sandra Burkhart Smoker of Strasburg, Karen wife of Daniel Brooks of Ronks, Charity wife of Joseph Watson of Kinzers, John husband of Brenda Jennings Smoker of Lindale, TX,  Grace wife of Graham Muir of Dunedin, FL, 29 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.  She is preceded in death by a daughter Susan wife of Richard Ressler of Gap and 4 siblings:  Crist & Paul Yoder, Linda Zook and Mary Lapp.

Funeral service will take place from the Millwood Mennonite Church, 441 Amish Road, Gap, PA on Monday, November 6th at 2:30 p.m., with a viewing time from 1 p.m. until time of service.  Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
