Elsie M. Smoker

Elsie M. Smoker, age 81, of Gap, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at home. She was the wife of the former John S. Smoker who died September 1, 2006.

Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late Elam and Sallie Allgyer Stoltzfus. She was a charter member of Mine Road Christian Fellowship.

Mom will be remembered for her warm hospitality, persevering faith, and deep love for her family. Her life and prayers touched many people, she never met a stranger.

Surviving are seven sons: Jason (Rose Lapp) Smoker of Atglen; John (Rosana Yoder) Smoker of Kinzers; Jeff (Joanna Mast) of Atglen; Jay (Martha Stoltzfus) Smoker of Atglen; James (Charmaine Stoltzfus) Smoker of Atmore, AL; Jadon (Gina Beachy) Smoker of Strasburg; and Justin (Krista Lapp) Smoker of Gap; 39 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Lydia, wife of the late Jonathan Lantz of Gap, and Elam (Rosanna Stoltzfus) of Gap.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Melvin Stoltzfus, Rebecca Yoder, Katie King, Verna Lapp, Lavina Ebersol, Sadie Mae Stoltzfus, and Stephen Stoltzfus.

A funeral service will take place at Keystone Church, 6 Pequea Drive, Paradise, PA 17562 on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. There will also be viewing times on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mine Road Christian Fellowship, 5101 Mine Road, Kinzers, PA 17535.

Interment will take place in Mine Road Christian Fellowship Cemetery.
