Elizabeth A. Thompson, age 81 of Paradise, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.  She was the loving wife of Jerry L. Thompson for 58 years.  Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ida Miller Orr.  She graduated from Scott High School and attended Goldey Beacom College.  Elizabeth was a very active member of St. John's United Methodist Church by contributing her time to the fundraising committee, missions team and the preschool board.  She worked as a film retoucher for Quebecor Printing.  She co-wrote The History of St. John's UMC, wrote articles for the 1996 book, Paradise: Our Heritage, Our Home and was on the committee that helped write the book 300th Anniversary of Paradise History.  Along with writing, Elizabeth loved genealogy and history research, crossword puzzles, cooking, watching Jeopardy and spending time with her family.  Surviving besides her husband are 3 children; Matthew E. husband of Candy Greenberg Thompson, Amy E. wife of Christopher Wiggins, both of Lancaster County, Aaron C. husband of Melanie Witman Thompson of Cammal, PA, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at St. John's United Methodist Church, 3001 Lincoln Highway East, Gordonville, on Saturday, October 4th at 11 a.m. with a time to greet the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Pastor Moon Ho Kim will be officiating.
