Elaine M. Groff, age 79, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Chester County Hospital.  She was the wife of Maurice "Dale" Groff.  Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Peter and Mary H. Swider Klinovski.  Elaine was a member of Sandy Hill Community Church and graduate of  the former Scott High School.  Her early hobbies were embroidery and knitting.  She taught herself to play her parents antique piano. She enjoyed singing, sewing, cooking, flowers, feeding the birds, country music, listening and dancing to 50s, 60s and 70s music.  She always had a special place in her heart for dogs and cats, supporting many of the local animal rescue organizations.  In addition to her husband she is survived by 2 children: David R. Hicks of Ronks and Cynthia M. Groff of Downingtown and a host of nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by 2 siblings: Raymond and Richard Klinovski.

Funeral service will take place at Sandy Hill Community Church, 420 S. Sandy Hill Road, Coatesville, on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Klingensmith officiating.  There will be a viewing at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.  Interment will be in the Sandy Hill Church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA 17509 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
