Eileen M. McClernon (Gallinaugh), age 74 of Christiana, PA, and lifelong resident of Rockaway Beach, passed into eternal life on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at home. Born at Fort Rucker in Enterprise, Alabama she was the daughter of the late John F. and Eileen McGrath Gallinaugh. Eileen was the loving wife of Thomas McClernon for 50 years. They called Rockaway "home", and raised their 4 sons in the place they loved. Eileen was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where her sons attended school. She was involved in St. Rose helping to organize their first Card Party, which continued for many years. Eileen had many diverse careers including: FBI Fingerprint Technician; Office Worker/Manager; co-owner of the Rockaway Irish Gift Shop and as a Paraprofessional at PS 114, for a number of years. She had a very competitive nature and enjoyed playing board games like Boggle and Scrabble,and computer word games, at which she excelled. She was very creative and loved all kinds of crafts, such as crocheting, making Christmas decorations and using her cricket. Eileen loved reality shows, favorites being Gordon Ramsay and Below Deck. She was an avid gardener and had an amazing green thumb. No one made a better cup of coffee than Eileen, but it had to be Maxwell House instant. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, especially her sons and grandchildren. Surviving along with her husband, Tom, are four sons: Thomas (Mary), William (April Samantha), Sean (Danyela), Timothy; 5 grandsons: Steven, Jayden, Justin, Aidan and Wyatt; great grandson, Leo and 3 siblings: Deborah (Timothy Gaughan), Steven (Jennifer Gallinaugh) and Noreen (Tom Donnegan dec.), as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, John Gallinaugh. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 130 Beach 84th St., Rockaway Beach, NY on Saturday, May 2 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Eileen's honor to Compassus Hospice 10 Cadillac Dr. Suite 400, Brentwood TN 37027 or a charity of your choice. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hands.
