Zug
February 8, 1950 – April 13, 2026
Edward L. Zug, age 76 of Peach Bottom, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13th, 2026 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Debra Pearson Zug for 56 years. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Edd W. Zug, Jr. and Dorothy Supplee Zug. He graduated from West Chester Henderson, Class of 1968 and SUNY Delhi in 1970 with an associates degree in Animal Husbandry. Ed was a lifelong dairy farmer starting at his family farm in West Chester and then owning Zug Tower Farm in Peach Bottom from 1973 to 2025. He was a life member of Fulton Grange, Solanco Young Farmers and PA Young Farmers where he served as the treasurer from 2006 to 2026. Ed loved Case IH tractors, NASCAR drivers Bill and Chase Elliott, The Statler Brothers and his bloodhound Mary. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters; Emily Zug of Peach Bottom and Irene, wife of Scott Weyman of Quarryville, 4 grandchildren, Madeline, Benjamin, Riley and Sawyer Weyman, and a sister; Betsy Huber of Lincoln University. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian L. Zug.
A funeral service will take place at Mechanic Grove Mennonite Church, 735 Church Road, Quarryville, on Saturday, April 18th at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastors Wayne Kreider and Jim Metzler will be officiating. There will also be a viewing time at the church on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ed's honor to PYFA. Donations can be mailed to Betsy Huber at 362 University Road, Lincoln University, PA 19352.
