Edith M. Whitfield

Edith M. Whitfield, age 66 of Downingtown, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Paoli Hospital. She was the wife of Michael A. Whitfield, with whom she celebrated 43 years of marriage on May 28th. She was born in Bryn Mawr, daughter of the late William & Helen Fink Marlin. She was a member of Calvary Chapel of Chester Springs. She was a homemaker and homeschooled all four of her children and also had a daycare within her home, caring for over 67 children through the years. She enjoyed sewing, storytelling and most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband are 4 children: Connie wife of Scott Mellinger of Coatesville, Colleen Jaffe wife of Benjamin Jackson of Coatesville, Nicholas husband of Angela Derstine Whitfield of Quakertown Cassandra wife of David Demaree of Hutto, TX, 2 siblings: Helen Haywood of Ambler, PA, William husband of Pamela Marlin of Cave Creek, AZ. She was preceded in death by 2 siblings: Steven Marlin and Joyce Zech.
