Edith R. DeLong, 83, of Little Britain Road, Quarryville, PA died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster, PA.
She and her husband, Robert C. DeLong were married on November 15, 1952.
Born in Eden Township, she was the daughter of the late Walter F. and Ella Mary Graybill Eberly.
Edith had worked for the former RCA Company, and the former Hagar's Store in Lancaster.She then retired from Frey Brothers manufacturing in 1994 where she worked as a secretary.She was a graduate of Quarryville High School.
Edith was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, Quarryville. She enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay and flower gardening.
Surviving beside her husband are a daughter Connie wife of Harold Keene of Quarryville; 5 sisters, Charlotte Boohar of Willow Street, Martha Benner of Rising Sun, MD, Mary E. Shee of Quarryville, Ann Basciani of Lancaster, Nancy wife of Karl Findley of Quarryville; a brother Jay F. (Shelba) Eberly of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles G. Eberly, John W. Eberly and a sister Blanche Mimm.
Funeral services will be held at Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, PA on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 2:00PM with Rev. Douglas Hileman officiating.Interment will follow in Quarryville Cemetery.A viewing will be at the church from 12:00Noon until the time of service.Kindly omit flowers.Contributions may be made in Edith's memory to the Arthritis Foundation, 630 Janet Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601.
