Earl L. Miller

Earl L. Miller age 93 of Paradise, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community.  He was the loving husband of Jacqueline A. Eshleman Miller for 62 years before her passing on April 8, 2018.  Born in Strasburg, he was the son of the late Ira and Beulah Lanneum Miller.  Earl enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1954 after serving in the 11th division of the US Army Air Borne as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict.  He worked for Armstrong World Industries for 30 years, mostly in the coating and fusion department, before retiring in 1994.  After retirement he regularly attended the Armstrong Retiree picnics.  He was a member of Leacock Presbyterian Church, Gap VFW Post 7418, Paradise American Legion Post 0409 and an honorary member of the United Rubber Workers Union, Local #285.  In his free time, Earl loved hunting, watching sports and spending time with his grandchildren.  Surviving is a daughter; Kathy, wife of Charles "Chuck" Ankney, III of Quarryville, 2 grandchildren; Charles "Chad" Ankney, IV husband of Nina Ankney, Kristen Ankney fiancee of Danny Rivera, 2 great grandsons; Charles "CJ" Ankney, V  Stetson Joseph Ankney, and 3 brothers; Robert Miller of Narvon, Denver, husband of Rose Miller of Atglen and James Miller of Downingtown.  He was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Dorothy Rousseau and Lester Miller.  A funeral service will take place at Leacock Presbyterian Church, 3181 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, on Friday, August 1st at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Pastor Jim Shuler will be officiating.  Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Earl's honor to the Leacock Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 3181 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, PA 17562.  shiveryfuneralhome.com
