Duncan Sock Higginbotham

Duncan "Sock" Higginbotham, 86, of Quarryville, passed away at his home on Friday, February 22, 2019.He was the husband of Mary Jane Miller Higginbotham.They had celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Born in Calahand, FL, he was a son of the late Duncan and Mabel Bear Higginbotham.
In his early career Sock work as a truck driver.He then went to work in construction, retiring from Wickersham Construction Co., Lancaster.
An avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman, he enjoyed being outdoors.Watching baseball occupied much of his time.Sock always enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, and the many foster children he raised.
In addition to his wife Mary Jane, he is survived by 2 children, Judy Barker (James), Quarryville, Joseph Higginbotham, Lancaster, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and his sister Shirley Shenk. He was predeceased by his sister Flossie Groff.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services at Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 11:00 AM. With Pastor Blake Deibler officiating.Viewings will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 PM, and Thursday from 10-11:00 AM.Interment will be in the Mt.
