Dorothy E. Hess, 91, of Schoolhouse Road, New Providence, PA died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA.
She was the widow of Joseph Leroy Hess who died May 24, 2013.Born in Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Myrtle Shissler Eager.
Retired from cleaning services, she had been employed by the Host Resort.
She was a member of New Providence Church of God.
Dorothy is survived by 4 sons, Donald Hess and his companion Colette Harney of Lancaster, Fred Hess and his wife Barbara, Steve Hess and his wife Pamela, John Hess and his wife Cindy; 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a brother Richard married to Irene Eager of Quarryville.
She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Joseph Leroy Hess, Jr., George Thomas Hess, Richard Wayne Hess; and 5 siblings, George F. Eager, Roy Eager, Bertha Wade, Evelyn Lefever, and David Eager.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:00AM at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA with Pastor Dwight Lefever officiating.Interment will follow in Quarryville Cemetery.
