Beloved Dorothy A. Griest, age 67, of New Providence PA, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

She was born on November 27, 1956 to the late Richard and Blannie Kilby Hertz in Lancaster PA. On August 1, 1977, Dorothy married Dwight D. Griest and they had two children, Shannon and Josiah. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years and was also a loving and nurturing wife, mother to her two children, and grandmother to her five grandchildren. Dorothy wrote songs and poetry and had an unforgettable sense of humor. She had a deep love for flowers, nature, wind chimes, and her Native American roots. She enjoyed spending her time with her husband, Dwight, their dog, Apricot, and her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Dwight Griest; daughter, Shannon Taylor, wife of Jim Taylor; son, Josiah Griest, partner to Amy Rea. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Josiah, Dylan, Delilah, James, and Daniel, and three sisters, Flora Welch, Pat Jones, and Catherine Warfel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Blannie Kilby, and three siblings, Raymond, John, and Paula Hertz.
