Dorothy Marie "Dot" Buckwalter, longtime resident of Paradise, PA, passed away December 26, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital at the age of 99.  She was the widow of Ross B. Buckwalter, who died in 1973.

Born in Bethel, Pa, she was the youngest child of Leigh and Minnie Fisher Ressler.  She was predeceased by siblings Jacob, Lester, Hilda (Pyle), Grace (Labezius), Goldie (Cramer), and Ruth (Herr).

A graduate of West Lampeter High School, she was a veteran of WWII, having served in the W.A.V.E.S. as a pharmacist's mate third class.  She was a long-time member of Leacock Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School.  She was also a Sr. Girl Scout leader and troop trainer.

For forty years, she was a voice on the phones taking orders at Esbenshade Turkey Farm.

She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.

She is survived by a daughter, Marie Glass (Richard) of Paradise, two granddaughters Amy Edwards (Dana) and Alison Hutchinson (Chad) both of Landisville, five great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren and one step-great-great grandson.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.  In lieu of flowers, please send any donations towards a tech scholarship to the Pequea Valley Education Foundation P.O. Box 233, Gap, Pa 17527-0233
